Villa Gillet Director Guy Walter, along with the Conseil de la Creation Artistique, are bringing sexy back to the states with their ten-day Walls and Bridges series of debates, readings and performances. The idea is to reignite the spark between French and American intellectual, artistic and cultural happenings via public forums and events, allowing the best of both cultures’ contemporary geniuses to mingle, dazzle and procreate right here in New York, creating a better Franco-American future for all of us. Part One of this Three-Part series will run from January 27-February 4, with nearly 50 events involving approximately 100 speakers and artists and 30 partners, with programming taking place at about 20 venues all over town, including various bookstores, universities and galleries, the New York Public Library, the Brooklyn Flea, and the most exciting venue of all, Happy Ending’s very own Joe’s Pub.
C’est vrais! Happy Ending and Joe’s will be hosting a Walls and Bridges Event on Monday, January 31 at 9pm. The theme is Going Public: Embodying a Persona, and special guests include French essayist Cecile Guilbert, American playwright, performer, composer and songwriter Cynthia Hopkins, and American Tony Award winning playwright and performer Sarah Jones. To purchase tickets for this special French edition of Happy Ending, visit Joe’s.
