Trampoline Hall meets Happy Ending

Heard of Trampoline Hall? It’s this amazing lecture series in Toronto started by my friends Sheila Heti and Carl Wilson. They have non-experts give lectures to audiences. It’s genius, compelling, spellbinding. Of course, I’ve never been.

This guy walked in to Happy Ending as the show was getting started and, bags still in hand, I had him come up to the stage to give us on impromptu lecture on…PEARLS! yelled someone from the audience. I’m not sure I could do justice to the astonishing ease at which this guy lectured on a topic of which he knew nothing, but if I had that skill, I too would walk in late to random urban events hoping I might get called to the stage to shine on cue.

Well done, stranger. Really well done.

  1. They used to have Trampoline Hall at the slipper room every three or four months, but I don’t know when or where they’ve been in the city in the last couple years.

We hope to be back at the Slipper Room soon. We’ll be elsewhere in America sooner – we’re doing a show in San Francisco, on Feb 25, at a club called 12 Galaxies.

  3. I really need to do things other than Happy Ending because I had no idea that Trampoline Hall was ever in NY. Sheila doesn’t tell me anything!

Well – put me on the list. I’ll definitely show up.
