Spiegeltons!

Thanks to all of you who came to hear me read with Jonathan Ames and Rachel Shukert at Spiegeltent, or as a friend thought I said, “Spiegeltons.” Twas fun. Thanks to Mike Edison for putting it all together. And to Jon Spencer for his Blues Explosion.

For those of you who don’t know what Spiegeltent is, it’s a tent. That’s about as much biographical information I can give you. I got to use my joke that none of my European friends laughed at during our travels with Cirque du Soleil, “Do I look fat in this tent?” Sadly, the reception to the joke at Spiegeltons was on par with the reception in Europe where the translation and cultural reference fell flat. The only excuse here? I’m actually not that funny. But I didn’t have to tell you that.

Funny “ha, ha” or funny “peculiar?” Pick one and I’ll be it.

  4. How about a combination? “Ha, ha…kerplunk”?

My father once said, “keep very close a cute girl that uses the word, ‘kerplunk.’ On the other hand, my mother said things to me massive amounts of psychotherapy have helped me forget.

I think this is where you tell me one thing your father said to you.
