New York State visual artists who love outside of the five boroughs of New York City: Listen. Up. Applications for the New York Foundation for the Arts’ (NYFA) career training program, MARK, are due next Friday, January 14. That’s one week from today. If either this deadline or the program itself is news to you, here’s what the NYFA website has to say about it:
MARK is the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA)statewide program for visual artists based in New York State, living outside of New York City, from all disciplines who want a unique opportunity for individualized focus on the professional and business side of their creative practice. MARK is designed to address the concerns of artists living outside of New York City while providing them with a new network statewide. Presented over two weekends MARK’11 is a rigorous blend of formal classes, individualized training, networking and group interaction. Participating artists can expect MARK to spark goals and help to define concrete steps while providing individual and group feedback. Selected artists will participate in weekend seminars held at four regions across New York State.
Sounds pretty good, right? The 2011 program consists of three different multi-weekend sessions in Buffalo, Ithaca and Postdam, occurring throughout the spring, from March until June.
