Bye, everyone. I’m taking my beach chair, grabbing a few books and heading over to wait on Crosby Street to secure a seat for this unbelievable event on May 8th. Come visit me. Bring snacks!
From Ryan Dombai, for Pitchfork: “Both Björk and Dirty Projectors make beloved (and sometimes polarizing) music on their own terms. A collaboration between the two may not seem completely obvious, but it does seem right. On May 8, AIDS and homelessness charity Housing Works will present a benefit concert with both artists, taking place at the 300-capacity Housing Works Bookstore & Café in downtown New York City. The show– curated by Pitchfork contributor and Stereogum senior writer Brandon Stosuy– will feature Björk performing a newly composed suite written by lead Projector David Longstreth and featuring Longstreth along with his band mates Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian, and Haley Dekle. Head over to Stereogum for more info about the one-night-only super-gig.”
