There’s this thing going around on Facebook, you know the thing: 25 things you don’t know about me. I’ve been tagged to death on it, but haven’t taken the time. There are reasons that there are 25 things you don’t know about me, and I’m not about to change that, except for right now. So let’s make that 24 things, okay? 1 thing people don’t know about me (and it’s not really about me, at all) is that I think about David Foster Wallace at least once a day. Whenever I’m dicky to someone or I feel less giving than I want, I recall every last thing I’ve read about DFW’s lack of pretension and his magnanimous generosity and I alter my behavior accordingly. I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about his death, but those are things you don’t know about me 2-24, and I’m going to keep it that way. For now.
