THE
HAPPY ENDING MUSIC & READING SERIES
The
best and most talked about new reading series since the last best
and most talked about new reading series. "Where even the stories
climax."

Chosen by New York Magazine, The Village Voice and NY Press as the best reading series in NYC, and singled out by the New York Times Magazine for helping to "Keep downtown, NY alive," The Happy Ending Series features the most interesting storytellers, writers, musicians, raconteurs and personalities, and requires the readers to take one public risk, while the the musicians, who perform two short sets with their original, lyric-driven music, are required to play one cover song and try to get the audience to sing along.
Shows are the FIRST WEDNESDAYS of every month.

"Best crowds... most fun...the guests are consistently amazing..." - NY Press
If you're alone, try a reading series that will remind you that books can still generate excitement and a communal spirit. The Happy Ending Series is an excellent bet. Hosted by author and droll MC Amanda Stern, the event brings excellent writers to the stage, and requires them to do something embarrassing as well as read. Plus, it's in a darkish bar, so you can people-watch without getting busted. - Time Out NY "Need to be Alone?" issue
"Amanda's series is a major buzz generator..." - M.J. Rose
